Stemme flight terms

Booking, cancellation, weather and safety conditions for Stemme S10 passenger flights. Last updated: 12 June 2026.

1. Scope and operator

These flight terms govern passenger flights in the Stemme S10 as well as coaching flights and custom departures offered by Swiss-Sailplane GmbH, Sandrainstrasse 2, 3007 Bern, Switzerland. They supplement our general terms and conditions. Where a flight is booked by redeeming a voucher, the voucher terms apply in addition.

2. Booking and payment

Published flight dates can be booked online. Payment is made by card (with the card surcharge disclosed in the general terms), by bank transfer or by redeeming a voucher.

The booking is binding once we confirm it; the boarding pass is sent by email. Bank-transfer bookings reserve the date provisionally and must be paid by the date stated on the invoice, otherwise the reserved date is released.

3. Departure airfield

Thun is the standard departure airfield and is included in the price. Other airfields are available on request and may carry a transfer surcharge, which is stated in the individual quote.

4. Passenger requirements

Accurate passenger details — full name, year of birth and body weight — are required at booking. They are used for the weight-and-balance calculation and for flight safety. Carriage is subject to the load limits of the aircraft.

If the actual data deviates materially from the booking and the flight cannot be carried out safely as planned, the pilot may refuse carriage; if this is attributable to the passenger, it is treated as a no-show.

Minors may fly only with the consent of a legal guardian, which is recorded at booking.

Passengers must be fit to fly. Please tell us in advance about health conditions or mobility restrictions that could be relevant for the flight — the booking form provides a field for this; the information is used solely for safe flight preparation.

5. Weather and operational changes

Soaring depends on the weather. We may postpone or cancel a flight at any time — including at short notice — for weather, safety or technical reasons.

In that case we will rebook you free of charge to a new date. If no new date can be agreed, you receive a full refund of the flight price. Travel, accommodation and other consequential costs are not reimbursed.

6. Cancellation by the passenger

Cancellations must be notified by email. The following applies based on the time before the scheduled departure:

More than 14 days before departure: full refund.

7 to 14 days before departure: 50% refund.

Less than 7 days before departure: no refund, unless we agree otherwise at our discretion.

Instead of cancelling, a booking may be transferred free of charge to another person who meets the passenger requirements. Please notify us of the change before the flight.

7. No-show and late arrival

Please arrive at the time stated in the briefing. If a passenger does not appear or arrives too late for the flight to be carried out, the flight is forfeited without refund.

8. Conduct and safety

The instructions of the pilot in command are binding at all times; the pilot has final authority over the conduct of the flight. Participation in the safety briefing before the flight is mandatory.

Carriage is refused to passengers under the influence of alcohol or drugs or whose behaviour endangers safety. In such cases the booking is treated as a cancellation less than 7 days before departure.

9. Liability and insurance

Carriage is subject to Swiss aviation law, in particular the Federal Act on Aviation and the Ordinance on Air Transport, which govern the liability of the carrier. We maintain the statutory passenger liability insurance.

Personal items are carried at the passenger's own risk. In all other respects the liability provisions of our general terms and conditions apply.

10. Photos and video

Photos or video recordings of passengers are made and used only with consent, which is requested at booking and can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.

11. Final provisions

Our general terms and conditions apply in addition. Swiss substantive law applies; the place of jurisdiction is Bern, mandatory statutory places of jurisdiction remain reserved. In the event of discrepancies between the German and English versions, the German version prevails.
